Nigeria abduction video: Schoolgirls 'recognised'
Relatives and friends of the abducted Nigerian schoolgirls have identified some of them from a video released by Boko Haram Islamist militants. The footage showed about 130 of more than 200 girls who were kidnapped a month ago from their boarding school in Borno state reciting Koranic verses. Boko Haram's leader says the captured girls who have not converted to Islam can be swapped for jailed fighters.

US in aerial search for Nigeria schoolgirls
The United States has been flying "manned" missions over Nigeria to track down more than 200 abducted schoolgirls, the Pentagon said, as experts pored over a new video, seeking clues to where they are being held. "We have shared commercial satellite imagery with the Nigerians and are flying manned ISR (intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance) assets over Nigeria with the government's permission," a senior administration official told AFP news agency on Monday, asking not to be named.

UN chief calls for tribunal on S Sudan crimes
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has called for a special tribunal for South Sudan, saying there are grounds to believe that crimes against humanity have been committed since widespread violence began five months ago. The UN chief welcomed on Monday the ceasefire agreement signed by President Salva Kiir last Fridaywith his former vice president, Riek Machar, and demanded an immediate end to fighting, which flared over the weekend.

South Africa Election Results Promise Interesting Five Years
JOHANESBURG — With South Africa's national elections settled, the country is looking at its most fractious parliament in years, with a surge in opposition representation. South Africa's longtime ruling party, the African National Congress, easily won the election battle, taking 62 percent of the nation's votes in last week election.

Kenyan Startup To Produce Africa's Cheapest Car
Kenyan car manufacturing startup Mobius has gotten an undisclosed capital from American billionaire Ronald Lauder, which would help it deliver on its promise to produce Africa's cheapest car. The capital will be provided through the billionaire's New York-based Pan African Investment Company (PIC), a company whose mission is mission is to identify, invest in and provide solutions that affect growth and development in sub-Saharan Africa.

Le naufrage d'une embarcation au large de la Libye fait au moins 14 morts
Une embarcation chargée d'immigrés clandestins a fait naufrage lundi entre les côtes libyennes et l'île italienne de Lampedusa, a annoncé la Marine militaire italienne. Selon cette dernière, 14 personnes sont mortes tandis que 200 autres ont pu être sauvées.
